I have worked in digital marketing and technology since 2006 and have run campaigns across a range of digital channels for SaaS, B2B, B2C and e-commerce.
Most recently, I worked at VMware (now owned by Broadcom) as a Senior Digital Programs and Compliance Manager. These days, my interests skew more towards data privacy compliance, cybersecurity, web design & development, machine learning & artificial intelligence.
Over the years, I have worked with a range of clients ranging from large, multinational corporations, VC-backed startups, bootstrapped startups all the way down to small businesses. Companies I have managed marketing campaigns for include Alibaba, Shopify, Squarespace, Hewlett-Packard and numerous other technology companies in Silicon Valley and beyond.
In addition to my work in agencies and companies, I founded and ran my own digital marketing consultancy, Pathways Digital, for seven years where I managed multi-million dollar annual advertising budgets for clients across a range of digital media acquisition channels.
In a previous life, I worked in equity research in the financial services field. I began my career working on the sell-side for a technology investment bank in San Francisco in the late 1990s and early 2000s (during the dot-com boom and its subsequent bust). Later, I worked on the buy-side for a mutual fund and for an asset management firm in Marin County, CA.
Programming and building web applications is a serious passion of mine. I wrote my first computer program in the early 1980s in BASIC on a Radio Shack TRS-80. However, I didn’t really begin taking programming seriously until the mid-2000s. I am mainly a self-taught developer and designer but did take a few programming courses in college. These days, my programming interests lie mainly in building web applications in Ruby, Ruby on Rails on the back-end with JavaScript with HTML and CSS on the front-end.
In my non-screen time, I enjoy world travel, playing guitar and piano, running, cooking and hiking California’s central coast where I live. Thanks for visiting my blog.
